Meet the doctor

Dr. Kenneth Schmitt-Matzen is a joyful doctor who enjoys working with people to help bring them back to pain-free health. Clients describe Dr. Ken by his boisterous laugh and great sense of humor. Sounds of laughter are the norm at Cookeville Chiropractic and Physical Therapy where employees and physicians alike mesh caring for patients and joking with them for an atmosphere of health. Dr. Ken’s years of experience in private practice and his down-to-earth prospective make him like an expert mechanic for the body.

  • 3 years pre-med at TTU, 5 years at National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois where he received a bachelors degree in Human Science, and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. He has also completed 3 1/2 years post-graduation in Chiropractic Orthopedics.  In addition to this, he has completed 2 years post-graduate in Nutrition studies.
  • 32 years of experience 1984-Present
  • Participated on the Tennessee Tech National Championship Riflery Team.
  • In his off time, he raised beef cattle. Running three operations namely cow calf, feeder calf, and custom grass fed beef.
  • He enjoy’s boating, family time, gardening, and snow skiing.

Meet the Therapist

Our Physical Therapist obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy with honors from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, TN in 1981. She did her pre-physical therapy studies at Tennessee Tech University.

Experienced in Home Healthcare (3 Years), Hospital Inpatient care (2 years), Outpatient sports medicine (2years), Outpatient private practice (1989-present)… Totaling 42 + years of experience in physical therapy.

Enjoys home studies of natural healing, nutrition, zumba, snow-skiing, and making my own “super foods”.
