I have known Dr. Ken personally and professionally for years.  Approximately 14 years ago I was diagnosed with gout.  Despite strict diet, taking gout medication and anti inflammatory medication I had frequent attacks.  The medication lead me into kidney failure.  Every six months I declined from stage 1 to stage 2 and had been just diagnosed as being in stage 3 when I heard about Dr. Ken’s nutrition program.  After six months I went back to the kidney specialist.  He told me that my values had not declined but may have actually improved.  After being on the program seven months.  I realized something.  I could not remember the last gout attack that I had had.  So I started testing it.  I started eating red meat, beans and even ate hot dogs.  NO ATTACKS!  I can eat what ever I want to now.  My over all well being is just phenomenal.  The progress was slow.  But words can not express what it feels like to eat normal foods after so many years on a very restricted diet that was not helping me.  It’s like waking up one morning and being completely healed of a heart problem. Six month up date: I Went back to Vanderbilt for follow up.  My blood work revealed my glomerular filtration rate had improved 3 points and my Creatinine blood levels have dropped from a 1.77 to a 1.55.  Twice during the visit Dr. Cox looked at me and said “I do not know what you are doing but keep it up”.  My energy levels have improved so much.  There is no way I could do what I am now doing on the farm prior to starting the program.  I could not go through the day with out taking naps.
